I initially tried taking a night shot of the Atlantis hotel in Dubai from an angle that isn't generally accessible. The Atlantis hotel is situated on the crescent surrounding the Palm, Jumeirah in Dubai and generally the only shot you can get head on is from the sea or the service road which is far too close. I managed to find a deserted spot which is boarded off though, and started snapping away.
Unfortunately the conditions in Dubai have been very hazy and foggy recently. Firstly I took a night shot, and pp'ed out as much of the haze appearing from the hotel lighting as possible. The location is ideal to capture the relections in the sea inside the crescent. A couple of people on a local forum thought that a view at twilight and sunset would be better so I tried that the following day.
I prefer the full on night shot though - I'll have to revisit when it's not so hazy, perhaps for an early morning shot (the sun will be behind camera right then, instead of setting just out of shot front left)
