Not exactly a mainstream location, but the Gladding McBean Company has been making pottery and terra cotta architectural details and large water and sewer pipes since 1875, in the little town of Lincoln, CA. A few times a year photographers are allowed in (a workshop) to make images of the wonderful old stuff that is all around the huge factory, some of it over 50 years old. I recently had this opportunity, so here are a few for now. These were made with a Canon 1DsIII and Zeiss ZE 35 lens.
v nice shots. The light and the nice tone range are what make them for me. This place is 30 min from my house, but I've never been. I couldn't make the event this month unfortunately. I'll have to try harder to get out there with these shots as inspiration.
