These are amazing shots! Please share your secrets; what camera and lens? ISO? Did you use flash? Etc. I'd love to know because I'm trying to improve my night shooting and your pics are really awesome to me.
Hah, the guy just asked the same question right before your post. D700 + 85mm f/1.4
ISO was set on automatic, never dipping below 1/100th of a second. I let ISO fly to Hi.2, with the FX format I'm not afraid of noise at all. I don't use flash, and there is some ambient lighting. I try to use lighting from street lights and store fronts that are coming from behind me. It helps a lot. I always shoot at f/1.6 with the 85mm at night. 1.4 isn't easy to focus with nor forgiving in terms of missed focus. 1.6 is sharp, still gives me fast shutter speeds, and looks decent. I'll shoot at 1.8 sometimes too at night.
Without dropping to 1.6 or 1.8 and without awesome high ISO capabilities, it's really hard. I couldn't do this with my other combo of a D80 + 50mm f/1.8
