Hey all, in the same way that you can set the blending mode to screen in photoshop, is there an equivalent in lightroom? Is it just the adjustment brush - exposure? Is there an easier way?
Many of the blend modes in Photoshop function as preset Curves adjustments, Multiply and Screen included. So if all you want to do is apply one "Screen" adjustment, you should be able to come pretty close using the Lightroom Tone Curve.
Here is a link that shows the curve in Photoshop that comes close to the Screen blending mode (It is the second curve dialog shown). You can try creating a similar curve using the Lightroom Tone Curve.
- The tone curve in LR functions a little differently than the one in Photoshop - partly because you are working on raw data and partly because the Adobe designers made some different decisions on how the curve affects hues and saturation. Here is an explanation of some of the differences. You will need to experiment to see if those differences are deal-killers for what you are trying to do.
- This "simulated" Screen adjustment will be the equivalent of only one layer in Photoshop. If you need other "pseudo-layers", you are going to be limited to using the other controls that LR provides. This may or may not get you to where you want to go.
