This is a session I did a few months back. The couple's engagement session was rained out and we couldn't get it in before the wedding. I'm happy that happened. The bride used the opportunity to get some formals with her family and some getting ready shots again which i enjoyed. My assistant had an emergency and bailed on me last minute. I had it set that I was going to use AB and vagabond for a bit - I wouldn't recommend doing that solo. There's a few more on my New York City / Long Island Wedding Photographer Blog Thanks for looking!
Yes I did use a gel and I should have done better with the WB in LR. The getting ready was taken with 16-35 @ 2.8. I've gotten a 35L since then. Thanks!
#16 isn't exposed well enough for a portrait - and their heads aren't far enough up in an empty sky for a good silo... I'm not sure what I'd do with 16.... seems like you didn't hit the mark with it... like in the middle of two bullseyes to either side of the mark you hit.
This set smokes. Best I've seen from you dude. 15 and 16 are a tad dark. I think yuo were going for that but still. 12 is the last page of their album. So good.
I dunno if it was totally intentional or not but 12 really really works for me in terms of the road environment... I really like that there's a curve up ahead (an unseen path ahead), I like how it's brighter up ahead, and how there are like 12,000 lines leading there. Love it, love it, love it! I'm very jealous as I've wanted to do a convertible shot from the backseat for some time... but nothing... and you with your amazing red firebird... grrrrr
As for what I'd change if I could...
5 - the way the car is cut off doesn't work for me... since you can't go wider (Uncrop! ... who remembers that video?) I'd maybe experiment with cropping it a tad tighter at the bottom... either just to eliminate the bottom chrome, or half-way down the lights, or right under the top chrome... or at the red. Dunno if it would work better... just a thought
6 - Clone out the signs and it's PERFECT!!!!!!
9 - wish there were more room around the dress
13 - I really like the POV, but would have preferred a little less tilt (I think the tilt works, but say 30% less would have been perfect) and waiting for no other cars in the shot (of course due to traffic this may not have been possible... especially not without losing the gorgeous trees on the left
15 - tilt not doing it for me... if you're not fixing it 'cause you'd lose the bottom of her dress, methinks this is a situation where you could use CS4's context aware scaling to buy yourself some needed pixels at the bottom.
17 - I'd warm it a tad
BTW... 12 totally deserves to be one of the first 3 photos on your website slideshow.
