.. I swear this bride gets points for being tough and braving the elements. You can see the whole story on my blog but, in essence, the average temperature when we were shooting was something like 31 degrees. Brrr.
i stopped looking at the set after #1-had to scroll down to compliment you on this one-it's an awesome composition-so much more effective when layered-love the choice to go b&w-alright, now scrolling back up to see the rest...
17 is a lovely shot-the warmth in the sky adds a romantic touch-bet they'll really like this one
many of the reception shots are a bit flashy for my taste (but that's subjective)-have you tried gelling your flash with CTO? personally, i love the blended effect it gives-not sure how dark it was in the room, but opening up more and/or bumping the iso could heighten the mood of your shots rather than freezing them, if that makes any sense
21. i find that the reflection on the saber is competing with the rings (same color, same brightness)
31. great capture of dad's expression-not technically perfect as a shot but when you capture content like this, who cares?
there seems to be a formula on your dance shots (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) but with a band like that as a background, why not go a little wider and use them to frame the couple?
Saw this set last night on FB. Wonderful job my friend! Crisp, clean. Great B/W's as usual.
To illustrate what a small world we live in, my wife is a neo-natal nurse. She took care of the bride when she was born and my kids use to go the brides dad for their orthodontics.

Hey Daniel! Thanks for the post man! To answer a few of your questions. Most of the reception was shot @ 1600, 3.2 @ 1/50th. There are a few exceptions but the room is really dark and has low ceilings. Trying to pull in ambient is, well, difficult at best when there really is none.
My flashes are actually gelled with a CTS but the lights were down so low that even adding a 2nd cut of CTS still didn't bring the lights out of the amber basement. It realy does give a nice feeling to the room though I wasn't unhappy with the results.

.. yes, I really, really wanted that. You may notice their is a big white ball hanging off the center chandelier. Well that ball, the bottom of if, only measured about 5½ feet from the floor so I had to constantly work around it. It also killed any chance of shooting a "centered" exposure without this bright white thing sitting on the thirds line of the frame. I did shoot some angles cutting out the ball (and the speakers beside the band) but just didn't post those.
First, that's a great set, second is it only me? but i feel like the fold in her skin should be liquefied in #16, i think she would be happier with that pic that way. Or is retouching like that a nono in wedding pics.
