Solid, solid camera.
ISO 2000 was very clean.
I was teaching a friend coming over from the video world the ins and outs of DSLR.
He is interested in the video side first and then the still side.
easily recovered +2.5 stops with no banding in post process thru LR 3 beta.
we where running thru HTTR and went a little far.
AF is a blast but requires time to glean the most out of it.
Thanks you 1D series.
Shutter sounded sweet - thank you 1D.
Easily customizable. The screen look daunting at first - but makes sense after playing with it.
Not really interested in the wireless flash.
We dropped by a mall to shoot some video and stills.
Natural light at ISO 2000 looked great right out of camera later at home on a 22" dell - viewing full screen.
(PC - dual Xeon based machine)
Funny thing, we got thrown out of the mall .....ops.
As far as buying equipment for longevity - 150,000 cycles is nice to have.
could be a nice match with a 5Dc/5Dmkii.
anybody running the 7D for weddings?
I just bought one this winter, and have shoot one wedding with it. My 5DMKII is still seeing more accuations, but it have been very pleasant. IQ is far better than my 40Ds were. The AF and a crop with a decent VF is what sold me on it. I like the crop option, and this one actually looks OK at 1600 ISO, which is fine for me. Suprisingly, I am finding that I like it best for flash work. It seems to actually synch at 250, where as my 5D is more like 160. Still haven't run enough shots through it to start declairng my love, but it is better than anyother 1.6X i have used.
It's a nice compliment to the 5D2, especially if you're using primes, doubles your focal length options. The AF is lovely in low-light situations, and I like the ergonomics better than the 5D2.
