Yeah, this really struck me as Apple actually responding to Lightroom. As an admitted Mac slappy, this is probably getting installed on my machine really really soon.
Spence, you'll need to get crackin' on Presetopia apeture addition :-)
I didn't get a blank email. I am downloading it now and it appears to be working just fine. I switched from Aperture 1.5 to LR 2 and have been very pleased. It will take a lot to get me back into Aperture.
It's about time Apple add adjustment brushes. That's one of THE major reasons I never gave them more than a glance. Definitely going to have to check out the trial.

Can you design albums for books other than the Apple coffee table books?
I'm not seeing anywhere that it says you can (maybe I'm missing it though), and I know from experience that, other than a .pdf export, there's no way to get the layout out of Aperture except through Apple.

Not only does it do brushes but it seems it also does pressure sensitivity if you're using a tablet. Pretty cool!

"Photo Book Plug-ins
Aperture 3 now lets you create and order books from a number of the leading, high-end album companies, such as Couture, Graphistudio, Leather Craftsmen, and Queensberry. Book themes developed and provided by these companies plug directly into Aperture, allowing you to create your book layouts and then connect, order, and upload your finished book with a few clicks."
