This past summer, a drought had lake levels nearly 50 feet lower than full, rendering many of the normal climbing spots unsafe, but also revealing new ones that had probably never been climbed before. Recent rains, however, have raised the lake level by 30 feet and counting. Some areas are only climbable within a 10 foot or so window, so when the lake is rising fast, you may only have a few days to climb between the water being too low for safety, and when the route is underwater. wow, interesting, very unique set, very cool. #2 is very nice for the rock formations, and the display of sheer strength and physical condition of the climber, #4 is great for the lighting and getting a sense of place. I have been to lake Travis, my uncle used to live on his sailboat on Lake Travis. Cool place, never knew about this sport their though.
