p.1 #1 · My First step with model

Hi Guys
after shooting my wife many years, I decided to "shoot" model and you will find some photos of this first experience: http://www.thierrydehove.com/2010/02/07/olena-markel/

Please let me know what do you think and feel free to be honest ;-)
Thanks, Thierry

they look good. I don't like the cropping on some but I think that might be a personal taste

I think you did a nice job with these. I agree about the hands in first photo. I find the full length shot of her looking back over her shoulder to be a bit boring - mainly due to boring crop/centered image. I like some others a lot but since you didn't number your photos will not try to describe which ones. Please number them in future posts if you'd like more detailed comment. Again, nice work.

Awesome images... I agree on the "top cropping" unless its for some sort of print media reason the first few seem to be cutting off a smidgen of her hair / head.

I would love to have seen another expression on the models face. She has mastered the current look, but a smile or a laughing expression would have added a good mix. Is that something you could have coached?

I think this is a stunning first effort, you did a great job. As to previous comments on cropping I am also going to comment on that and composition just a bit. If you look at the first photo you have what appears to be a long tall slinky model but the crop gives you the impression she is trying to squeeze into the frame of the photo, almost like she is stooping over. If we expand that to a number of your other shots we see issues with top crop bottom crop, etc. As a minor point you are always a bit better off shooting with a bit more real estate in your original photo, not lots, and then making a creative decision on how you what the shot to look in PP. These are nits but could add value and pleasure to your efforts. As I said before well done.

Dave
