Hey everyone,
this is my first post so I thought it would be fitting to show my first real planned portrait I took today. It is right by a window with a speedlight bounced from on the camera to camera left, and a window behind her along with a reflector below her, camera right. Would love to hear any feedback you guys have. Thanks Portrait
BTW- is there any way to get that photo into the post instead of just the link?
Hi, thanks for the comments. Right now I'm using a sort've calibrated monitor you could say. It's a macbook that I've calibrated with the built-in software and online contrast, brightness, etc. tests, but I tried a spyder express and it just turned the screen a very cool color after a few tries so I just gave up on it.
Does the color look off to you?
Tukhang, I agree this isn't the best screen but it's all I have right now as I'm still a student.
Thanks Danny.
Mike, thanks for trying with getting the image in . And thanks for the comment about the picture, I was going for the warmer feel as you said. I tend to always lean towards a warmer color balance with people shots. I'm glad to hear I didn't start off too bad.
Anotherview, I don't yet have that privilege, but thanks for the info I'll have to check out subscribing. I agree about calibration, I'm thinking about getting a new version and maybe the pro model and seeing if that works. For the portrait, I sort of liked the lighter background in this as it made the lines made from the sides of the window less noticeable. I get what you're saying though, and will think more about subject-background contrast next time around.
