Early morning in a small village in rural India.

good sighting, shooting, and processing. my only suggestion is to crop the left and right just a little to get rid of the wall edge distractions.
regards, tom

I think the wonderful element in this image is the sense of "balance" between the left side and the right as the pots and the corner element weigh against the door and the steps. Very, very nice!

I actually like your comp the way it is, so I'll post my vote for keeping it as is.
Really nice.

Thank you all for your nice comments!

It's hard for me to be objective towards this image since I was there, walking around in a small village that magical morning!

Oh, by the way, have any one tried Crane Museo Silver Rag?
Do you think this image would look good on that paper?

I've never been happy with the Crane Museo Silver Rag despite its enthusiastic endorsement. But maybe its because I have never been happy with matte papers. I think, for me, the issue is the need to process with additional contrast to make the papers work best. But it does seem some textured paper would complement the image well.

Scott,

Thank's for your reply!
Is Silver Rag actually a matte paper? I was under the impression that it was more semi-matte

Any other suggestions?

/Kenneth

Kenneth, my apoligies. You are correct. Actually listed as having a gloss finish on Crane's site. I am confusing this with Crane Museo II.

Kenneth,
I've come back to this several times, trying to get a fix on why I like it.
I still can't, but it's time to confess that I really DO like it.

Agree with all the comments above Kenneth - a well executed, beautiful shot. Really nice processing.

I can't comment on the paper choice, I'm still exploring that part myself and just went thru all of Red River's papers. I guess I need to look at Crane's stuff too. I'm with Scott when it comes to matte or even semi-matte papers; I keep coming back to the brightest, whitest, glossies for B&W but that's certainly a personal preference.

Again, great shot and would definitely be worth printing.
