That is stunning. It does look like you've got an extra, interior set of upper eyelashes though.

Thanks every one, I need to now find a subject to try it on haha I want to keep experimenting with hard key lights and using a ring flash as fill. That is sorta what I did here, but the main light was just an umbrella as far away as I could put it in my garage which was like 7-8 feet. Just gota keep trying stuff out!

Yeah I agree completely with that, I side light almost every thing that I want to have the edgy look. But to really give it an edgy look there needs to be a good amount of shadows to really bring out the hi-lights on the side. If your main light doesn't give the right shadows or is to bright the rim lighting effect doesn't stand out as much. So I've been searching for the best ways to use a main light. The ring flash is good for giving you shadow detail where you need it, because if you have a hard main light you loose some detail in the shadow areas.

I'm guessing you aren't a boxer or martial artist: I can tell by your thumbs. For example, take a look at the position of this guy's thumbs. His thumb should be tucked in behind his fingers. Just a friendly pose suggestion to make it more authentic looking. cheers

Too funny. That was the first thing I noticed, too.

I actually think you done pretty good here with the lighting. I think anything else would come from post processing.

Even funnier:

I did martial arts for twelve years, made it 'near' the olympics, taught in like four schools, have medals yada yada

...and i didn't notice the thumbs. just the light.
