The 80-400 really performs on the D2X, not so well on the D700. The 16-85mm is wonderful on the D2X, 90+% of the 24-70mm I use on the D700.

Have to go with Mr J Mac over the Elder lake and I too would be seriously happy with the Texas Bluebonnets (lupins?) hanging in my office.
The Alamo too is a standout for me.
Tnx Murph

Grognard,
These are really nice shots with the D2x. Makes me think again about getting one for a backup to my D300. How would you compare the low iso shots with the D2x to low iso shots from your D700?

Thank you. I have had a great deal of trepidation from posting anything here, since most are far better than I am as photographers.

On the cameras:
I think they are pretty darn close, but I think at 100 ISO, the D2X is slightly better than the D700 at ISO 200, but it is a matter of degrees only. I think the D2X is a more comfortable body than the D700+grip and the 100% viewfinder vs the 95%.

D2X and 14-24mm (that lens really shines on the D2X)
