I had a brief window to shoot in some descent light last Saturday. I really wanted some Wigeon IF's but the lazy bums were all napping
So I wandered down to the beach, the tide was out and locals were feasting on sea stars. This is an odd behavior to watch. The gulls can't get the stars down in one gulp, the sit there with them in their mouths until they go down. It could be a long time. I have heard it said but I don't know how true it is that when they do this they are actually digesting what is in their throats. Anyway it is fun to watch as they are sure everybody wants to steal it from them. They do chase each other around in flight with the one holding the star usually dropping it.
You have posted some 'stars' Tim That last shot shows a ton of character in that gull. Crow bird looks cool, always a pleasure to see detail in blacks buddy.
The light in #3 captivates me, I really like the mood in this one. Also #6 snaps out nicely, a sharpie and again nice light!

I was thinking of you when I put the crow up. Yes these gulls are full of character when they think you are going to steal their food. I too like the light in 3. Glad you like 6.
This is something I have not seen Tim. Great captures by the way. #4 is my pick and the beautiful crow. They must be tasty stars, I have seen a beach full of starfish and gulls, but never seen any interest.
