p.1 #1 · China- a woman pinched

In Shanghai- or Hangzhou- or Guilin...
One of those places. Probably.
Moderate playing around in Photoshop.

How would you describe this work? Photo illustration or digital art?

I have no idea, Jordan.
Mostly I'd call it me going through a bunch of pics that I thought might be fiddled with, and then fiddling with them until I got something that pleased me, and then posting them here .
Luckily, when I set low goals for myself- they are often achievable .

I'm sorry, but I don't like this one. The stretched effect seems a bit coincidental if you know what I mean. Fiddle around, stumble across liquify in Photoshop, fiddle around and *pop* there is a picture unlike anything previously seen.

The low quality in the stretched areas, the little face dead centre (the flowers are several times larger than the subject)... Perhaps desaturating the flowers would help? The flowers are too dominant, way too dominant.

Well, my 2 cents, if you like it then that's the important part.

Stig,
People like you take the fun out of play.

I'd love to see a (this forum) requirement mandating posts of work versus just dropping in here for CC.

Jordan,
Looks like digital art to me.
Thats the good thing about the good 'ol USA we ALL have our artistic freedoms.
Do you have a specific rule book for what is digital art and not ?

Am not sure what prompts your question.

My original question was answered by the thread starter, so that is a dead issue.

As to a rule book, mine is relevant to me only.

I'm all for fun, Charlie.
I wish I could draw. My vision is exceptional. My ability to put that vision to canvas or paper is beyond limited, however.
This is the fun of digital art/Photoshop for guys like you and I. We can at least experiment. We can come a lot closer than we could with a pencil, chalk, brushes, or whatever, even if it's not going to win any awards. Sometimes we just play around, too, until we accidentally wind up with something that makes us smile.
That's the bottom line for me anyhow.
Keep on having fun with it! I do. You've seen my humor series enough to know how seriously I take myself!
