Ha!

I think #1 is pretty cool... I am not sure about the angle of the shot, but the way the tree is so angular and how you captured it to provide that "sky" border is really pretty creative.

In #2... I guess I have never equated a cactus in anyway with fall colors... Now our cactus's here typically bud or bloom in the spring, and while there is no denying the bud on that cactus, for me it just doesn't fit an "Autumn" theme...

Hi Grognard,

Yeah, that I've noticed, there's 3 very good photographers shooting here in Japan that post on FM. And then of course there's me. Not so great but still trying - and in Japan of course. There's usually "Japan" in the title or thread body somewhere to tip you off or for searches - although FM is a terrible site for searching. All threads a year old and older go into a non-searchable archive that you have to specifically go to and search there for anything. So this makes finding information or photos from the past almost too difficult to even bother with. It's a shame and a half because most photography tips and information are timeless.

Kewl That's what I was going for... The "sky boarder".

That perspective on the first one is completely unique - I have never really considered such a comp framing before and this will leave me looking a little longer when I am considering my subjects in the future. Nice eye for that concept.

The second image left me scratching my head yet again - cactus in Japan? That bloom in the fall? I certainly learned several things new from this post.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Rob! Yeah #1 was a risk that paid off. I'm just glad that we're in the digital age where the "risks" are so low.

And I hope you had a very merry Christmas too!
