The 28mm lens will automatically bring up the correct frame lines. The built in frame lines depict the proper crop factor. The only time the crop factor is important, is if you use an external viewfinder with a particular lens. For example, I use a Voitlander 28mm external finder with my Zeiss 21mm lens (21mm x 1.3 crop factor is roughly 28mm). Most popular

For example, I use a Voigtlander 28mm external finder with my Zeiss 21mm lens (21mm x 1.3 crop factor is roughly 28mm). Most popular lenses from 24mm have built in frame lines in the body. I own an M8, and as I recall they are 24, 28, 35, 50, 75, (I forget if 135 is supported without a supplemental finder). Send me a PM, as I am considering selling my M8, as I never use it.
