I have two pelican 1510 cases, with padded dividers. I have one pending for sale, tired of taking two cases with my stuff in it. Wanting to upsize to a 1610 or 1650. Does anyone have either the 1610 or 50 and can I put a lens like a 70-200 on end in the 1610. I was told I could in the 1650 which is only .03" taller so it sould not be a problem. Was just wanting so first hand knowledge of the cases if anyone is using either one.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Lars, do you find the 1610 roomy enough for you? I'm keeping one of my 1510 cases to travel light if I need to. The 1650 is bigger (length and width only), but with size comes more weight. Don't want to throw out my back picking the darn thing up.

The 1610 is very roomy. And very heavy if you plan on using it for travel. Without any problem I can put 2 bodies, 10 lenses, 2 flashes and a lot of other stuff inside it.
Only land travel. Right now when I shoot basketball, I take two 1510 cases with me, one for my bodies/lens/etc and the other for my magic arm's/super clamps/pocket wizards etc. Was hoping to combine everything into one and take one case. If I need to say go shoot a football game, can switch around and only take bodies/glass.
Just couldn't see getting a case where I could't sit a few things on end to take advantage of the increased depth.

I would guess that you can get nearly everything from two 1510s inside one 1610. Of course it depends on what stuff & lenses you have. But many lenses that I own and I have to lay down in the 1510 can stand up in the much higher 1610. So you gain a lot of space because of that
That was my hope. I realize a 300 f/2.8 or something like that would have to lay down, but even the bodies can be put in on their side which will save room. Both 1510 cases content combined will be a bit on the heavy side, but that is what the wheels are for, right?
Appreciate the help.
Hey Lars...would you mind taking a couple snaps of the inside of your 1610? I happened to come across one that was being thrown out. I have to either buy new pick-n-pluck foam or new dividers...not sure which way to go, would love to see how yours is set up.

Wow that's a lot of stuff. I Was mostly looking to put lighting equipment in it, 2 or 3 alien bees and a vagabond. Not sure the dividers will work for me, but good to see how they're laid out.

There are a lot of dividers. More than I have on the image. And you can change it so the inside looks very different, to your liking
I have one 1620 which is the same as the 1610 but 2 inches deeper that I use for my lighting. I get 3 bees, 5 PW's, 11 and 7 reflectors, 3 super clamps light meter couple rolls of tape and a ton of power cords. Even if you were going for lighting I would not use pick foam once your done you cant change the setup where the pads have endless configs.
Here are some shots. Sorry it is from my camera phone out in the garage so the quality sucks but you get the idea.
This first one has the upper deck in that I store my cords in. I think I have a 3 25', 3 15' and 3 10' extensions that have the right ends on them to directly plug in.
This picture shows the lower section. One of my clamps/strobe and 2 PW's are on loan. The open space is for the the strobe and the PW's fit by the others there. You can see the 3 11" and 3 7" reflectors stacked with the protective cloth that they came in. I am sure I could fit one more where the tape and light meter is if I wanted. One other thing that makes this work is the caps. I don't use the model light so I took the bulb out and bought the low profile protective caps from the white lightning side.
