With all the horah (and gnashing of teeth) over the 100L and the 15-85 . Has anyone actually got the 18-135 and if so what do you think of it and can you post any images?

I'm thinking of selling a couple of lenses and could use this a general walkaround/out with the family type lens and then get an old 28-70L (I regret selling mine now)

I'm a first time DSLR user, and I like it for a general walk around lens so far.

I'm have a lot of learning with using a 7D now, so don't expect anything earth shattering when you look at my photos!

From my limited in store hands on try out it seems to be a reasonable lens. Only problem I spotted was the usual barrel distortion at the wide setting and fixed at around 24mm which is typical of just about every canon zoom that starts at 18mm though from what I saw, it was a bit worse than the 18-55mm.
Still nothing you can't fix post and if you ignore the 18mm setting, as a 24-135mm IS lens for the price, it looks to be a winner.

I had the 18-135 IS, but sold it last week and replaced it with the 15-85 IS. It makes a nice walkabout lens.

I have written a mini review of the lens here:
