My 400mm f2.8 IS lens seems to be stuck on my
Canon 1DIII camera. The camera and lens are working
OK, I just got back from shooting a football game
(Stanford vs Cal), photos are OK, but I just cannot
separate the lens from the camera. The release button
appears to be partially depressed, and will not click.
Please let me know if you have advice for me. If the topic
has been discussed in these forum, please let me know what keywords
to search on, I was unable to find anything searching
on "stuck lens"...
It has been discussed some time ago and may be gone now. Some time the lens gets stuck due to the lens pin on retracting or loos screws on the lens.
You can try pointing the lens up, press the lens release button, try to giggle the lens. What you trying to do is get the lens pin to retract back into the body. If that doesn't work the screws on the back of the lens may have worked loose and may be causing it to be stuck. Don't force it or you may break the release paw on the body.
Thanks for the suggestion... It did not work, at least
tonight :-) I'll try again tomorrow, and if not,
I guess I'll need to send both camera and lens for repairs!
