p.1 #1 · problem with Nik Sharpener Pro 3 and LR 2.5
I'm seeking some help with using Nik Sharpener Pro 3.0 as an external editor for LightRoom 2.5 on my MacBook Pro (OS 10.5.8).
I'm sure that both programs are installed correctly but every time I try to use the sharpener program all I get is an additional copy of the file to be edited in my LR catalog; the Nik program does not open up at all and yet there is no error message from LR.
I have also used the Aperture plug-in version of Sharpener Pro but ran into problems with Aperture due to the file dimensions. I tried a smaller image but Aperture went unstable on me and decided not to work with the sharpened tiff file. Hence my little play with LR.
I'd appreciate the benefit of your experience with these programs. The Nik user guide and FAQ did not address my problem.

Alan, that doesn't sound right at all. The combo LR/Nik works just dandy on my two macs. I'd trash the LR preferences and reinstall both LR and the Nik programs and see if that solves things.

I'll be re-installing the lot later on today and will let you know if the problem is fixed. I'm unsure what I've done to ruin things but it reminds me of Windows I thought the Mac would not do this to me (or would not let do this to it - whichever is the case). My printer has now stopped printing too, so something is seriously wrong.
