Hi, Jose. Well, you can continue taking bows on this one. It is terrific. The detail is phenomenal, and as usual, the texture exquisite. The b&w version is my far my choice for this comp. The color version has wonderful qualities, as well. But the first version is much more striking to me.
Love the technique here and shot. I am wishing the image was less complicated with more water sky, but still think the image is superb. I like the color version as well. I do think it looks a tad nuclear after viewing it in B+W though. I think I would mute it a bit.
Wonderful work, again, Jose. nice comp and execution. I hope you start carrying some B&W negative material with you. The range of tonalities is the best by far, and converting velvia, sadly, is the worst.
Thanks for posting both versions. The B&W is really stunning (and inspirational). That's why I keep spending time on this sight--so much talent and creativity on display.
Really nice work as always Jose. I love the long exposure and the fantastic comp in this one. To me, the B&W version works a lot better. It really underscores the fight that went on here and gets it to that more poignant meaning. Well done.
Jose: Wow ! Impressive technique and impressive results. I am equally enamored by the b/w and the color, though I think it's one of those images that just calls for b/w.
Gorgeous! I'd love to see a big print in person. It has been ages since I shot 4x5 and I only shot a little (pre-digital days) but there was nothing like printing an 11x14 from a 4x5 neg. I love your B&W conversion.
