Hey Colin, I think you are going to have many looks and few if any comments that you might like to hear on this one. I give credit to your wife for the nice trophy she got but most all of us are going to find it a very uncomfortable image.
To make the correlation it would be like going to the pet and people forum and posting a dead one and hoping for good words
I understand your enthusiasm, maybe you will understand the lack of it from most of us here, no hard feelings but just not a good idea.
No problem, Karl. I understand fully what you are talking about, and I do understand the sensitivity of the subject. My apologies if anyone is offended or uncomfortable when viewing this. I have no problem removing the image if anyone wishes me to do so.
Colin, my respect to your thoughtfullness and understanding in deleting your post, you are a good person and acted in our best interest, do come back some time with some nice images to share please.
Colin,
Thanks, I know it can be exciting to go hunting and fishing etc.
It just wasn't good for a photography forum. Thanks for being so understanding.
Hi Tim. I would have very much preferred to photograph the buck walking ,as opposed to the way I did. My wife is an avid hunter and fisher-person, and any deer that she gets is always for food. This was her first large buck (ok, huge), and we have never seen a buck of this size on our hunting land. The previous buck was a 5 point and looked puny compared to this one. Anyway, since this was the largest buck, she is wanting to get a head mount. The rest will be for the dinner table.
Now me, I could care less for the hunting. That is just not my hobby, even though I wouldn't mind shooting them with a camera. I remember previous posts on similar subjects, and the responses that ensued, and I forgot about them when I posted the image. I quickly removed it after Karl responded, and I don't have ill feelings toward those that replied, both positive and negative. I understand that viewpoint entirely, as I would very much rather be somewhere else while the field dressing is being done. Anyway, no hard feelings, and my apologies to those that found the image unsettling.
