Many, if not most, of our requests come from brides who do not live in our area or live just a tad too far away to meet up with us in person. In these cases, if a meet-up is impossible, I try to schedule a phone call to talk about our photography. I try to make the phone call similar to a consultation in-person.

I was wondering - what is the best way to follow up to that phone call? Should I send an email follow up or should I call again? And how long do you all typically wait? I was thinking of following up within a week or just over a week.

Anytime I meet with anyone, in person, or over the phone, I send a follow up email within that same day thanking them for their time. They usually respond to my follow up email within a day or so.

Oh - I send an email right after I talk with brides. It includes all the relevant information, gallery links and passwords, etc.

I'm thinking more of a one-week follow-up to see if the brides needs any extra info.

I do that if the conversation becomes stale I'll just hit 'em up with another email asking how they've been and that I'm just checking in. And/or a call. No set rule per say.

Sounds like you and I are on the same page with this. Thanks! I feel that email is a bit less invasive - esp. if they are thinking of not hiring us. Then again, maybe a phone call follow-up would get the sale faster? I'm not pushy, though, so email feels better.
