p.1 #1 · Breaking Through

After fleeing the horrific winds and rains immediately on the coast, we witnessed the sun making a valiant effort to pierce through the raging storm.

Thought that a b&w version was in order. Hope it works.

oh yeh, now thats a moody image! just enough detail held through to the distant light house.

originally, as you know i wasnt sure of using that fence. in most cases ive never had the right conditions to make it work. however, on this occasion it certainly worked for you

do you have any of those rutting deer shots?

Hi, Simon. I do. They were okay. I'll take another look when I get home, and see what I can do with them.

Cheers,
Ed

B&W rendition is very effective. The fence on the left is a nice detail.

Very striking , Ed , especially for a difficult shot worked on a laptop . I'm sure you'll be able to extract more tonal range and detail when you get home and put it on the big screen ! I look forward to seeing the re-worked product .

Hello Ed, love the intense contrast. I can almost hear the waves pounding on the shore. Good work.

The contrast from those white cliffs is so great it's hard for the mind to comprehend. At first, I thought I was looking at a negative. Lots of impact, for sure!

Ed

Very cool really like the moody feel your conversion is relaying here. The different degrees of illumination throughout the whole image really works so nicely here as does the fence poles as a great leading line down to the cliffs. Very nicely seen here Ed

Very nice! It almost gets to the "too much in the frame" point but stops just short. I like the fence leading into the cliffs and the light on the waves.
