Waited a couple of hours for this one. A few miles south of Lake Louise along the highway...
I need to go back in the winter...
A straightened view:
Thanks for the tip!
Part of the waiting was giving priority to this freight moving north, (#2). Unfortunately this shot is way to blurry to be of much use. Another reason to go back
Thanks for your comment...
Wow, what a great place. I imagine it was worth the wait, huh? Great shot Zeph!
Is it just me or does the whole image lean slightly to the right? I know the foot hill in the background has a right side droop (and that's possibly what's messing with my mind) but I think the image could be tilted to the left. I find myself viewing it with my head crooked. Haha... Nonetheless a fine shot!
Nice composition. And great timing. Good picture. You even waited for the passenger train - that takes patience.
The last time I was there I waited 2 hours for the train and forgot to check my card and got the dreaded card full flash just as it came down the track.
I concur with Tim, both with the compliment and about the possible tilt. Have you thought of cropping some off the left side, maybe to in between the two trees on either side of the tracks? I think it just might center even more attention to the train, alleviate the tilty feeling somewhat, and keep attention on the more interesting rocky peaks in the bg. Just thinking aloud...
David - not a train fanatic, but I love the retro look of that old train!
Great work Zeph, worth the time and effort for sure. Perhaps using one of the trees as the "ruler" for the tilt would do it, but i'll bet it's a pretty small rotation.
I looked a cropping to the left, but I think the moving train needs space to run into.

OK Tim / David I'm seeing it now on my crappy work monitor, of all places A rotate of 1' CCW will do it, especially 'cause the train is headed down hill I'll use Bart's tip and shore it up.
Thanks Guys
My wife and I visited there several times during our trip. I have an excellent story to tell but that's for later. Watch this space!
It was worth the wait to capture this one Zeph - it's a fine shot
