In the second image you can see where I sunk down into the mud at the right in the image. I was walking really slowly and I thought that I could get out just a little further. I was wrong. Sunk down a few feet and got off balance and fell foreword and got stuck.
My main concern was my 40D and 17-55 f2.8 that was around my neck and shoulders. It almost went in. It was so close. My tripod was not as lucky It was kind of a struggle. I was hoping that nobody was watching, as I imagine that it was quite the sight
With the help of the tripod as a brace I finally got out and took some shots
All very nice Brian...I had a similar adventure a few months ago...got bogged, literally, had to sit down on my a**e to dig out my feet as the most amazing sunset was unfolding. I thought the farmer was going to find me the next morning. Still got the shot, though, and worth everyone handful of mud!
cheers Andrew

These look a bit muddy to me Brian .....................
Only kidding!
I love the sinister atmosphere in the images, very interesting indeed.
Well done.
