1.
Sustain: Good context! Lots of good action, and a good expression. Excellent sense of proximity to the action from the WA. Effective compromise on the exposure. All faces clearly visible.
Improve: The WA distortion is pretty strong here. I would go ahead and squeeze in the ends in post, and make it an 8x10 if need be. Consider whether a slightly less extreme FL would work here in the future, if you're going to be putting people near the frame edge.
2.
Sustain: Good light, nice expression. Composition is largely effective.
Improve: Focus seems off. Its not on eyes, its not on mouth. It seems to be living mostly on the upper lip.
3.
Sustain: Nice color, interesting composition. Wood grain helps the comp here.
Improve: I'd like a little more DOF. Again, its hard to find something fully in focus.
4.
Sustain: Looks like everyone is having a good time. Fun idea.
Improve: Awkward crop that cuts off the two groomsmen. Inside left groomsman seems brighter than the rest. Top right seems very dark.
5.
Sustain: Cool that you got an aerial view!
Improve: Tilted horizon, not feeling any strong composition here.
6.
Sustain: Tree anchors the composition nicely. Even light.
Improve: Losing BM on left's face... she kind of melds into the next girl as well. Color treatment isn't my fave.
7.
Sustain: Coolest shot so far. Its a unique situation, and you've composed a frame for it effectively. The windows' edges form nice leading lines. They are composed on the third. Her hands on the muffs make the shot.
Improve: Crop of bouquet... I wish it wasn't there. Its pulling my eye, but its resting half out of frame.
8.
Sustain: Interesting ring shot that has a solid composition.
Improve: I wouldn't run the text over the ring. I'd turn her ring to see a few more diamonds.
@sensei88: helicopter actually, it was even cooler
@evan baines: thanks so much for your indepth review, has revealed some insights that i never thought of before!
@jeremy_clay: thanks, i'm starting to cut the cross processing out
I think I'm starting to like natural color more and more. I used to have to spend alot of time editing a picture only to realize it still sucks afterwards, but now I'm trying to get it right straight out of camera.
