p.1 #1 · Color in 50d

Hi All,

My wife and I shoot with 50ds. I have noticed recently that the color in the raw images is off.

I have to add red and yellow to the images or they have kind of a steely blue look.

I thought at first that this was because of the lack of color in the image but now I'm not so sure. It seems as if most of the images are turning out this way.

I have the camera set to Argb and always shoot in raw. I process in Canons image software for the most part. I recently checked my monitor for color balance.

I am wondering if any one else has noticed this.

Thanks in advance,

BQ

Have you tried a custom WB using a Whibal or similar?

Does it appear that way in print? If not, calibrate your monitor. It does make a difference.

It has been my experience with the 40D that the reds tend to get blown a bit and I have to back them down.

Otherwise, I agree with EBH, check your white balance. Try shooting a scene with a grey card. Set the WB to this, and then use that same white balance in the next frame without the card.

I've been shooting with my 50D for a year now and the colors are wonderful. I too shoot in RGB and raw. I don't use the canon software though. I do about 90% of my post work in Adobe lightroom.
