I'm considering buying a Manfrotto 233b bracket--sick of making high numbers of redeye and demoneye corrections in my night football and soccer pics.
BUT the online evaluations of the product complain that it is difficult to use in the "portrait" position. I'm looking at the bracket and it seems that I could mount my 300 or 70-200 directly on it and then turn the camera, no problem.
With my 85 mm lens (for basketball), I'd have to mount the bracket directly on the camera and I see how "portrait" position could be a problem.
