first real attempt with a star-burst effect - a bit more flare than I expected. Also, had an issue with a reflection off the 3 stop GND into the bottom of the picture (cropped out) - any suggestions why this happened? Maybe the angle in reference to the sun?

any feedback/suggestions on this would be appreciated.

Hi Peyton,

I like the warm fall feel to this photo, and the starburst itself is wonderful, but I personally think the composition or perhaps cropping is a little off. I think if the sun was just slightly higher in the comp, it might bring a little extra to it. Maybe try to crop a bit off the top and the right side. The almost vertically centered sun divides the image too much in my opinion, and you could probably do with a little less top, sky, and treetops.

If you re-shot the image at the same time of day, and got down a little lower, aiming to have the sunburst a little higher in the middle row of top trees, that might work out to get all the elements in, in a way where the sun isn't dead-centred vertically.

I agree with Crystal - lots of the top, down lower, and landcape would put more focus on the grass and light and improve. Thanks for sharing. Scott
