I suspect that Adorama knows if it is practical to repair this lens or not. Its one thing to repair a focus motor but another if the glass is ruined from fungus. Its likely good for parts only.
?? Um yeah, beyond the obvious problems in the description why is there a picture of a FD mount? This doesn't sound like something Adorama would put out for sale but, maybe they've had recent change in policy??
Ok, I see you've noticed the FD mount as well Petkal. OTOH what's even worse is that there are 3 bids on it already and it's going for over $2500! Why would anyone spend that much on a destroyed lens? Or maybe there is something wrong with me?
Looks like someone royally screwed this listing up.
My bet is you get an EF 500/4 that has been dropped into a sewer as well as a perfect (E-) FD lens with positive aperture clicks and all to compensate for the remorse you will be feeling for having bid more than $2.500 for a piece of junk
The optics of that is bad. That ebay sales group casts a poor reflection on Adorama on the whole. Seen a similar thing before on two separate listings of 200 f/1.8 .
Their staff should be retrained and reoriented from English onward. The supervisor to be reassigned to the warehousing detail.....general housekeeping duties.
Helen, my standard fee for this kind corp mgmt advice is 100 f/2.8 IS lens or a $ equivalent sum.

+1 No way that beat up 2000 lens is E- in my book.

They also seem to have dropped the above standard descriptor which they use for all lenses they are selling. I suppose we need to give them some credit here, they are moving in the right direction: a lens that doesn't AF shouldn't indeed be considered to " work perfectly". Thank goodness the MF ring is "smooth".....that has always been a strong selling point with the MF/alternative crowd.
Last week they ran an auction that was very confusing. Obviously they use a template for their descriptions and should definitely do some proofing before publishing their listings.
Question #1
ME: "Your Title Says 1D Mark III but the pictures are a
1Ds Mark III and the description is of the 1Ds
Mark III. What model camera is the auction for?"
Adorwin: "It is for a 1Ds Mark III"
Question #2
ME: One more question. In your description, it says
"NOT TURNING ON - DOES NOT WORK" but the last
sentence says "Prior to listing, the camera has
been tested and works perfectly". Please clarify
if the camera works or not.
Adorwin: "There is listing error. We will close it and revise it."
