I was able to finally make it out to Arches and Canyonlands and thought I'd share this first shot with you all. It was taken Saturday afternoon as a big winter storm rolled through. I was shooting out at False Kiva when things started feeling a little eery. I hiked out as quickly as I could and thought I'd stop at the Green River Overlook to shoot the storm. It was fine at the overlook, but all around there was snow, thunder and lightning.
Anyway, I post this for any feedback anyone might offer. All comments and critiques are welcome and appreciated.
I really like the soft lighting here. The bright foreground is a nice contrast to the stormy background. I also like the contrast in texture between the foreground cliffs and the stormy skies. This shot has a film-like look to the color.
An overlook for a river but you can barely see it. Really nice view with the drame of the hanging rain making the shot. The shot makes me want to drive down that dirt road! Thanks for sharing.

Great looking overlook and the skies are delightful. I hope you took lots more too
That looks like a very neat place to have taken shots for a pano - any chance you took enough for that?
Alan
Thanks Alan, glad you liked it. No, I didn't get a chance for a pano. After this was taken, I put on a 10 stop ND and worked with that. I'm about to post that one, which I think looks different since it gives movement to the storm.
