I don't hate it... Maybe the tones are a little off, I mostly notice it in his face, for my preference it's a little too gray and missing some detail. The blacks and whites look good to me, so maybe just a bump up in the mids? I also am distracted by the out of focus highlights on the right, maybe consider a crop to eliminate them and un-center the boy in the frame. I know, that would break the rule about not having your subject looking 'out of the frame', but the far right serves no purpose in telling any of the story here, and I actually like the slightly oof tree trunk behind him.
