I'm contemplating getting a couple of golf shirts made with my logo to wear at weddings, meetings, general PR. Not sure if I'd be wasting my money, so I turn to the wedding photogs here - what are your thoughts? Is anyone using logo'd clothing for any purpose? I'm thinking (golf) shirts, jacket, fleece, etc. If you are - does it add to your branding campaign, PR, or whatever? If you're not, is that because of cost, or do you feel it's tacky, etc.? Thanks for sharing your opinions.

I have a few hats that my mother-in-law got for me. I like to wear hats so I wear it occasionally. I probably wouldn't go further than that though.
and i don't do logo'd clothing. it just doesn't seem necessary and doesn't particularly fit with my brand. i do send my kid portrait families home with a little logo'd something, though.
Seems a bit tacky to me. Besides that, I try to build strong personal relationships with clients and I feel like wearing "business" clothing kind of puts up a front that could impede this. I want to be known as "Jamie", not "the guy who runs Jamie Howell Photography LLC".
Of course, everyone's situation is going to be different depending on your business situation. The single, sole-proprietor should probably do things a bit different than the 4 person studio should.

some of you might be familar with mark ridout (he lives around the corner from me) and he wears a nice jacket that says simply ridoutphotography.com on the back and it looks really nice.
geez, just about every business i know of has clothing associated with it...why not?
We have logo'ed clothing that we sell/give with our kids' end. I've been known to wear the t-shirt while shopping or whatever. But not within the business.
well, it doesnt have to be tacky. There are lots of times when dressing up isnt really appropriate, and for those we wear these shirts shown below. Having them, if nothing else might make it appear that you arent some craigslist wannabe that got a rebel without a clue.....or maybe not. Good for trade shows, bridal shows, shooting sports or non bridal occasions....whatever.
Suits and neckties just dont fit in with camera straps either. I wear black nike dri fits or similar. (actually Ping has some very nice ones). But the straps dont get messed up wieth the collars like the do with suits. Not to mention its always hot here in S. Florida.... I did wear a suit when I just started 15yrs ago though Thankfully that phase ended long ago....along with flash brackets, and heavy battery packs.
I have shirts with not only my logo but also those of various sponsors and other companies I'd like to sponsor me...... hell, I look like I belong in Nascar!!
