Ok, so my first attempt (https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/833535/) was viewed 245 times but only got 4 responses, two of which was from me. I must've done pretty badly. But I didn't let it get me down.
mostly 5d2 w/ 70-300 f4-5.6. #13 shot w/ a 100 f2.8. All LG Jpeg smooth. Should I try RAW next time?? I only have 4gb cards and shoot at least 300+ in a couple hours. Also, I borrowed a battery grip this time and WOW what a difference!
I tried to take all advice given in the linked thread. More C&C would be appreciated!
I didn't see this the first time around but I've got a few comments. First of all great job getting faces. However in #6 it is very hard to make out any details on the player's face. Next time try shooting RAW and you can make slight adjustments to the exposure in PP. The only other comment I could make (and i'm nitpicking) is that in #3 maybe you could have shot it horizontally and had the guy who was going for the flag in frame without limbs and body parts cut off. I wish the backgrounds weren't so drab, but i guess that's what grass is like in the real world away from fancy NCAA fields and such.
Do you feel this set was an improvement over the first one I did? Next time, I'll try RAW on one card then jpeg the rest to see which I prefer.
I'll be shooting some tackle a couple weeks from now so hopefully it'll be on a decent field. If anything I guess I'll be able to practice getting expressions buried deep in that helmet. Hope it's just the ugly field keeping people from commenting.
