Way to be there for the action Thang - You have that cat figured out. Can't wait to see more. I sense something spectacular coming soon.

Wow Thang,
You came this close to getting the actual kill... amazing wow
Tim
Tim - the cat got the coot from the pond. Somehow, the coot managed to get away (twice) for a few seconds. The chase went on for several seconds...But in the end, the cat did get it and disappeared into the brush.

So did the bobby end up catching the coot? The suspense is killing me. ISO 4000?!?! Crazy.
- Hung
Hung - yes, ISO 4000 was used to keep the shutter up and that wasn't enough. It looks fine at web-size but lots of noise when blow up...I should have removed the TC as well.
Thang, I hope you don't run out of Coots This attempt looks almost playful! Your study of your subject is paying you good dividends, stay with it buddy!
Thang -
ISO 4000? That's insane! I was wondering what kind of shutter speed you were working with. It's amazing (not really, when you know how much time you spend out there on a stake-out for the Bobby-grail) how many times you've been there for the prey shots. The unexpected escape by the Coot was definately a bonus.

That first shot tells the entire story.
No need to see all the gory details, which seems to separate science from art.
Doesn't mean we don't all take those also, and share here.
Hope you are able to put on a show somewhere, as you have carefully built up a fine story with the bobcats.

At least you had a Zm. I would have been out there with the 500 and got close ups of the cats head and nothing else
Why didn't you get him to come out for me Saturday
Ken
Sorry Ken - Haven't quite got them trained yet.

Hi Mark - Thanks. The chase was the high point from this encounter. Unfortunately, I wasn't quite prepared to capture the action...

Tom
Hi Tom - unfortunately, I don't have anything more spectacular from this encounter. Ken (fwyflyr) might have something under his sleeves though...We will wait and see.

Thang,
You are getting very friendly with that cat. Have you invited her home yet? Nice captures.
Larry
Thanks Larry. Haven't invited them home yet but they have been living in my trunk.

So close Thang well I hope you'll get it next time Buddy you need 200-400 VR for this type of action
Garen
The 2x4 certaintly would be helpful but think I need something a bit faster...working on the 300 2.8 IS.

Look at the intent expression on her face as she surfaces in the first shot & then steps out of the brush! Wow - she's glued to him . . .
Yes Marcy - the cat was very focused and determined to catch his prey.

Yes and the extra f/stop would have helped even more.
