p.1 #1 · Insurance & Filter Advice (going international)

Hi all,

I'm heading out of the country in the three weeks for a week in the middle east. I'm going to be doing a lot of shooting and i need a little advice.

1) i want to insure my gear (i need about 2-3k in insurance). It's not a lot, but still.

2). I need to pickup a 77mm polarizer. The B+W polarizers range from $140 to $180. Does anyone have any suggestions for other brands? I don't want to go bottom of the barrel, but close to $200 is a bit rich for me.

Thanks!

If you don't use autofocus/metering the old PL Linear polarizers will work. link

For landscapes you can get arround the limititations and the Linear are more effective than Circular. You can save some money with PL filters.

I bit the bullet on the Polarizer and went with the B+W Kaesmann. Still not sure what to do about insurance though...

You may want to see if your homeowner's insurance policy covers damage to equipment that occurs outside the home, or if you might be able to purchase a rider specifically for your trip.
