My apologies if this is a duplicate post since i have a similar one in the general gear forum. Basically i have a $600 amazon gift card to burn and have been looking at getting LCD to replace my aging CRT. Does anyone here have the HP LP2475W that they use for photo editing? I've narrowed it down to this monitor but would value input on any others that are available from amazon. I wish i could add some more extra cash but i can't so the NEC models are out.
I just ordered one from Amazon arriving tomorrow I needed to get replace my old 20" sony CRT. I'm crossing my fingers and hopefully it turns out well. I have an older calibration device from xrite so hopefully it works.

I'll be looking forward to hearing from you. I have a older xrite calibration device too.
I wouldn't recommend going with anything less then 24" get a 27" if you can. a 24" widescreen is only as tall as 21" 4:3 format monitor. Good calibration is essential. I used to have problems with processing, but now I've got Spyder3 suit and I'm very happy with how everything looks and prints. I have 21" "square" Samsung LCD and 24" LG LCD (cheap).
hi
i have been using this monitor for the past 2 months. love it. did a lot of looking
before buying. figured it to be the best inthe price range i could afford. not disappointed

I've had my HP LP2475W monitor for several weeks now, and I'm very happy with it. Its default settings are very bright, but after I calibrated it with a ColorMunki, the colors are now a very close match to the prints rolling out of my Epson 4880. I use it in a dual-monitor setup above my old Mac G4 laptop, which isn't the fastest computer on the planet but works just fine in this case. Although I haven't done this yet, I especially like the fact that you can rotate the monitor 90 degrees and fill the screen with a vertical image. My monitor was an Open Box unit from B&H that sold for about $150 less than list price, but I'd happily pay list if I had to do it again and that deal wasn't available.
Yea, I took the chance and got a HP LP2475W from B&H and happy to report no apparent color shift problems with my new IPS panel .
Love this monitor as I was used to an old 19 inch Trinitron and the type on LR, DPP is gonna take time to get used to being so small with the type on the interface

Mine arrived Wed from Amazon and it looked pretty good. The manufacture date was from Sept 2009. I calibrated w/ my older monaco xrite and the colors and everything looked really good. My whitepoint out of the box was off at 6400 and I had to calibrate it up to 6500. My only complaint was the monitor seemed too bright on the eyes calibrated. Haven't seen any problems so far.
