Well, if you have a budget and are looking for an APS-C camera there is no reason to switch from Canon to Nikon or vice versa.
As far as the 14-24 is concerned, it won't do much good on an APS-C camera, and you're better off with the Nikkor 12-24 f/4 or the 10-24 f/3.5-4.5 that are both DX lenses. Canon has the EF-s 10-22 f/3.5-4.5 which is pretty good too.
Also, if I really wanted the Nikkor 14-24 f/2.8, which I do for my 5DMkII, then I'll use the 16-9 adapter, but will have to manual focus.
Sure there is the Nikkor 200-400, but not for $6K and not for the size and weight. If it was an option then I could afford to run dual systems for that lens. There is no equivalent for the Canon 100-400 on the Nikon side which is more appropriate.
