p.1 #1 · My first try with a Canon 5D

I recently sold my crop-equipment and bought a used 5D in perfect condition for a good price. Tried in first time yesterday, and totally love it. It can be a bit slow, the shutter response was a little bit challenging when working with kids, but with time i guess my technique will adapt to it. Anyways, both the 85mm 1.8 and the 70-200 f4 L really shines on the 5D, but what i was most suprised about was how good the 50mm 1.8 is on this thing. The autofocus is still slow, but when the focus is right the pictures from this little plastic thing can be really nice. So, here are some of the pictures. CC is appreciated

Nice captures - but could use some post processing - levels/white balance/contrast plus converting to sRGB for anyone not using a color aware browser.

Nice shots. What is the primary difference that your are seeing in your images? Less depth of field? Different bokeh? I'm curious.

I know when I first started using the 5D, the 50 f/1.8 started becoming a joy to use because the focal length finally made sense. On a crop, 50mm is too long for my uses.

Also, the medium made the glass resolution for less important. Images look sharper. It doesn't feel like I'm splitting hairs any longer.

Congrats on the 5D. I also converted from a crop body. Don't worry... soon you'll get used to the 5D's personality. The 85/1.8 is one of my favorite lenses on it, probably my most used indoors and out.

As for C&C, not going to go crazy on your first round of images. You may have to stop down a little more than you're used to in order to keep both eyes in focus.
