I spent at least couple hours blogging this one, talk about lots of work. Staying up at 3:30 ain't healthy!
Shot this wedding last week. There is a LOT more on the BLOG
There is lots of collages, I hope it won't be a problem to identify the photos.
I like your ring shot. I think it could be improved a bit imho with a straighter crop and cloning out the orange band of light/blur on the right hand side. Tack sharp though, great job!I really like your detail montages... a few of the photos feel a bit yellow though. For instance the hands in 6... 14 is lovely. 16 is strong but I would think it could be improved a tad with leaving some space between the bottom of the bouquet and the bottom of the frame. I absolutely LOVE 23, beautiful concept and excellent execution. 29's montage is awesome! Looks like you had a great time and did a good job for the couple!
Love your work. That ring shot is amazing and the rest is just as incredible-- I love your angles in 2 and i would have to say my favorite shots are 14, 16, 18, 21, 29, 32-- but they are all killer. Your processing is also top notch, seriously.
Small world we live in. Cora is a actually a really good friend of mine we used to sing in a Jazz group at BCC together. I was surpised to see this post. I'm absolutely ecstatic that I told her no to shoot her wedding, cause I absolutely admire your work.
I'm mostly a portrait photographer and weddings give me a headache. If you ever need an unpaid assistant though I would love to see you work.
The lighting was very tricky due to all the lights inside being yellow as seen in pictures. All the walls inside the venue are covered with mirrors and ceilings are painted in some kind of dark brown color. My regular lighting routine was worthless and bouncing was just making the subjects yellow. Every picture taken with available light is very warm and saturated. I had to stay very close to the ambient light and add just enough flash to overpower the yellow light, but still keep the bounced look. I've tried to fix most of the yellow cast, but some I will have to work on later.
Ardent, I also have the ring shot without the brown spot and it's not as good imho. The blur adds depth to the photo and I quite like it. I see where you're coming from though. Thanks for your help!
Yeah I couldn't get the time off but it would have been fun. I actually had Chris and Nate "the band" at my wedding two years ago too. Those guys kick arse.
You are already much cooler than I am by the way, I don't wear cool hats when I shoot.
