p.1 #1 · Asahi Kogaku 135mm

I picked up an old Pentax SV with a super tak 1.8/55, separate lightmeter and some accessories, but what caught my eye in the ad was a picture of an old silver lens. Turns out it's an Asahi Kogaku Takumar 135mm f3.5 lens - half a century old. Solid brass, pre-set and coated optics. It came with the original 37 > 42mm adapter, original UV filter and beautiful leather case. The lens is very compact but weighs 500 grams - more than 1 pound! I was planning on selling the lens to make some money, but for what I paid for the set ($55), I might keep it. I took a quick shot this morning under not ideal conditions to see how it holds up. I was amazed to see no CA at all. I must do some further testing for sure. (Focus isn't spot on - other shots I took show how amazingly sharp this lens is. CA to me is a bigger downer for a wide-open shot than absolute sharpness)

Anyone else have experience with this lens?

Sorry, no experience with your lens but it I have found that many older lenses have very little CA. It seems that lens designers started making sharpness the priority at some point, and CA took a back seat. I like the look of your lens.
