Two shots from a few weekends ago taken at Lake of Menteith. This is the only "Lake" in Scotland ............ the other stretches of inland water are called "Lochs".

I hope you enjoy the views
The old AA Roadbook of Scotland from my youth (early 1960s) stated quite specifically that Lake of Menteith was "one of only two lakes in Scotland" without naming the other one!! I have spent the last 40 years trying to discover whether that statement was true and, if so, where the other one is!!!!
Beautiful soft light and glowing autumn colour in both of these , David . My preference lies with the second picture , with that touch of reflected blue sky and the fresh vegetation adding extra depth and sparkle to the overall view .
Hi, David. Two lovely shots. I'll probably join in with Adrian, and vote for #2 by a slight edge. I like the added framing that the grasses and the trees provide.
i will also say the second, a very nice golden image.
as a very very very small nit, i would crop just that last slice of green out on the left, then you have a full selection of golden hues, with out that green patch.
i'm assuming that's a church right there. must be a very nice location to have a church and graveyard right next to this lake. lovely warm light in these david!
#2 for me and I have to agree with Simon here on clipping out that patch of green on the left - this is a much better comp with the only snippets of green being the blades in front.
