Hi everyone! I've admired everyone's work here and seldom post my pics but I thought it might be time to share my latest effort in the link below. Your comments are always welcome. I'm still learning.
I'm of the opinion that the crops are a little too tight on these. I like the full size versions on your website. Looks like you had some sweet light that day. Also loved that harrier shot on page 2 - great shot that one.
Hi Rob! Thanks for the feedback. It is much appreciated.
Ken, I was just lucky that Half Moon Bay is on the coast and the setting sun provided the warm light. As far as the crops being too tight, this was an experiment. I wanted to see how close I can go near the bird to get the most detail. These are almost full frame shots of the RTH. I was about 10-15 feet away from the bird using a 7D with a 300 2.8 and 2X TC; no lens coat and on a monopod. I think this bird is still young because it wasn't afraid of humans (yet). Above shots were at f/11, 1/250. Some of the other shots on my website were using a combination of 7D and 1D Mark III. Sorry if this is too much info. I appreciate your comments. Thanks for the feedback.
