The ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers) and the Library of Congress have put together a website for Digital Photography Best Practices.
I thought I'd post the link here. I have just taken a brief look and want to dig further.
Here is the intro from the site:
"Welcome to the dpBestflow website, your resource for nearly anything you want to know about digital photography. A quick look through the menus will make it apparent that there's a Master's Degree worth of information in the site. How the heck is anybody supposed to navigate this?
