Does anyone know anything about these? I see on the website that there are new 11 inch long throw reflectors that supposedly increase light by 40%. I tried to order or preorder seven of them today, but they aren't taking orders yet. Will there be grids for those, or is the 28d beam narrow enough grids aren't needed anyway? I also see they have 8.5 inch reflectors coming out. My thinking is I'll keep my 7 inch + grid sets for wide angle use, sell my current 11 inch, and buy the new 11 inch long throw IF they offer a signicant improvement. I really need the increased distance. It's not unusual for me to need to light something 100+ yards away. I will put these on my X3200 monolights. Anyone know if they can throw light maybe 200 yards? My typical exposure setting is f2.8 or f4, ISO 800.

Kent, call the manufacturer. Anything we tell you will be pure speculation as far as pre-ordering/availability.

If you're already using the 11's, it's safe to assume that you'll get an increase of .4-ish. It comes at a cost of beam width (28 vs 50), which may or may not matter to you.

BTW, I'd be interested to hear how your CC works for you in the snow at 200 meters. :-)

Don't have CyberCommander. Right now it sounds too complicated for me. I only shoot outdoors at night, in the dark. Usually I have a train coming and I'm in a big hurry. I'll wait until I hear CC is working more smoothly. I am just using CyberSyncs CSRB/CST for past year. I put lithium AA batteries in them to cope with the temperatures here on the Northern Plains. It can get colder than 40 below zero here. CyberSyncs have no problems at all in my usual temps of 0F to --20F. I use them in relay mode to get more distance, and that works very well. If it's snowing heavily (such as blizzards) that does cut down on range, sometimes considerably. Radio triggers don't seem to tolerate a lot of moisture in the air.

The 28 degree beam won't matter because of the distances I will be using those reflectors at. I'm hoping it increases distance and helps cut light spill. I'm strictly an outdoor shooter when using lights.
