I've had my D700 for 3 weeks and everthing has been fine. Shooting a friend's wedding yesterday and the single point AF won't move with the rotary dial. Was working fine before. Had to switch over to Matrix AF.
Called Nikon support and the guy said he's never heard of this problem. We went thru the reset and reset of custom, shooting menu and still no luck. I even switched lenses and AF still stuck.

Is the dialpad locked? ie the little lever by the dialpad, is it set to "L"?
You the man! I switched from a Canon 50D so I'm new to Nikon. I knew there was a simple fix. How come Nikon support guy couldn't tell me this, just told me to mail my D700 in. Thx!

If it makes you feel any better, I've owned 6 NIkon DSLRs, and all have had the dialpad lock feature. Mine got accidentally locked a couple of weeks ago, and it took me about 15 minutes to figure it out, even though I know very well about that feature. I just never use it, so I forgot to check it. Duh.
