Globular springtails around 1.7mm body length walking on a small puddle with a flower placed behind them to reflect back into the water. Taken at 5:1 FF focus stacked and cropped a bit.

Amazing, but these are the big ones at 1.7mm. Beautiful colours too.

If a springtail can be said to be gorgeous, then that first frame is drop-dead gorgeous. Amazingly pretty, Brian!

There are terrific! Harmonious colours in the first and gorgeous complementary colours in the second, which is my fave because I'm a sucker for those particular colours

Thanks Brian, I can assume that these are 'some' of the bugs that will inherit the world? They're bloody everywhere. . . .

Thought that honour was going to cockroaches or is that just if we wipe wipe ourselves out with a nuclear war ?

Springtails along with a lot of other detritus bugs are very important in recycling/composting processes.
